Hello everyone.
This is Ian, aka A House of Pots. I often write funny sales posts, but life isn’t so funny these days. I’m indeed closing my business down, blowing out far too much inventory, and figuring out my life from there.
First and foremost, I want to take this moment to thank everyone who’s supported me digitally or monetarily over the years. It doesn’t matter if you never visited or got a pot, that you saw my content, clicked it, and formed an impression meant a lot.
A lot has come to pass, and now I must pass my commercial lot onto another party. But before I do, I have a lot of pots to sell.
Back to our regular programming:
For the love of all that is liquid, A House of Pots is closing shop and liquidating everything resembling pottery, a pot, or a plant holding receptacle with 25% to 50% discounts off regular pricing.
It’s true, I used to hold a lot of plants, but after selling most of them immediately into my liquidation, that’s not the case so much any more.
You can still get $5 off plants at A House of Pots, but it’s primarily discounted pottery that you’ll find here at:

I thought I would have a short while to close my shop, but it appears as if I have until September. I may be wrong, and I certainly don’t want it to take that long, so I’m discounting, wheeling and dealing, and selling a lot of pot(tery) from now until then.
Some people might think I’m crying wolf, that I’m not going out of business, and this is all just a gimmick. I wish that was the case, but my outlook is much less better than worse, and as such, I’m doing liquidation related things every day until I’m gone which is why I’m open for shopping 6 days a week.
Regarding discounts, as I mentioned and advertised, my going out of business / liquidation sale ranges from “25% to 50%”.
That said, items are typically reduced by 33% to 44% (for example, a $35 planter reduced to $20 is discounted by 43%).
I do have 2-for-1 terracotta, which amounts to 50%, 3- and even 4-for-1 used clay pots, which amount for 66% to 75% discounts, but 25%-50% discounts is just easier to say.
Even still, I have a 14-inch bubble pot marked down to $40 from $85 (53%) and some 12-inch MCM Gainey cylinders, valued at over $200 on clearance at $80 (60% price reduction).
It’s still easier to say 25% to 50% discounts.
Ask me about 2-for-1 specials. They apply to small tapered planters, terracotta saucers, handmade Spanish pots from Mexico, and a whole host of other planters.
In terms of free items, readers know I’ve always got some of those.
I’m giving away all of the following:
Damaged pottery
Pottery shards
Little bits of broken pottery
Bagged top soil for purchases above $150 (ask me though, as I forget)
Potting services
Occasional cuttings
Pallets while available
Nursery planters
Used terracotta
Cash discounts
Hefty savings when you factor liquidation pricing
Resin pots
Tales of woe and misery
Those extra terracotta pots I’m including should count
A variety of extras
